ENJOY & Happy pampering! ---------------------------------------------------------- Head Lice These days head lice are amunned to the heavy chemicals used in normal chemical based products. It's much better & safer to use a none chemical based product OR you may also like some of these great easy & less cost affective & much safer way to kill & remove head lice. Essential Oil Treatment Rosemary and Lavender Essential Oils help kill lice. 30ml of Olive Oil 10 drops Rosemary Essential Oil 10 drops Lavender Essential Oil Mix the ingredients, dampen the hair, and massage the oil thoroughly into hair and scalp. Cover with a shower cap and leave for about an hour. You may like to follow this with the Lice-removing Soap and Anti-lice hair rinse &/or Conditioner. Lice Removing Soap Follow the essential oil treatment by washing with a bar of Neem Soap, a herb used in Ayurvedic medicine to remove parasites. It will also help stun them to make it easier when combing out with a lice comb whilst soaked in conditioner. A bar of Neem Soap Anti-lice Hair Rinse Follow the Lice-removing wash with a hair rinse or conditioner that will help to soften the glue that attaches the nits (lice eggs) to the hair. The rosemary and lavender essential oils help to eradicate any remaining lice. 500ml Warm Water 500ml Apple Cider Vinegar 6 drops Rosemary Essential Oil 6 drops Lavender Essential Oil Mix the ingredients together and rinse the hair and scalp thoroughly with the mixture after washing. Cover the hair with shower cap for about 15 minutes, and then comb it with a lice comb (a special fine-toothed comb available at pharmacies). Rinse the hair and scalp again thoroughly with warm water. Conditioning the Hair Pure Earth also has a Conditioner which is 100% chemical free which can also be used as it has Lavender in it already & you may also like to add some Rosemary Essential oil to it if you wish. Otherwise i personally have used this along with the Shampoo & the Neem soap & they have all worked very well for my kids when they have had head lice. 250ml Conditioner with Lavender Prevent Re-infestation To prevent lice from finding new homes, be sure to wash ALL combs, brushes, clothing, bed linen, towels in hot water. Thoroughly vacuum in and around the persons bed & belonging including car seats & headrests. Bites, Stings & Rashes Herbal Lotion to Relieve Itching Witch hazel is a mild astringent and helps to calm inflammation, while peppermint cools irritated skin and relieves itching. Lavender is both anti-inflammatory and antimicrobial. 30ml Witch Hazel extract 20 drops Peppermint Essential Oil 20 drops Lavender Essential Oil Combine the ingredients in a small bottle, Shake well, and apply with a cotton ball as often as needed. Heal a skin Rash with Clay (caused by a plant) Apply a poultice of natural none chemical based cosmetic clay, aloe vera gel (pure) and peppermint essential oil to treat a rash caused by a plant. Cosmetic clay is drying and aloe vera (pure) encourages healing. Peppermint oil cools and temporarily relieves itching. 2 Tablespoons cosmetic Clay Aloe Vera Gel (pure) enough to mix 2 drops Peppermint Essential Oil Mix the clay with enough aloe vera gel to make a thin, spreadable paste. Add the peppermint essential oil, spread on the rash, and let it dry. Reapply the poultice mixture as often as you require. *Note Regarding the cosmetic clay: If you have purchased our Mud masks they are also made with 100% Australian Clay & are fine to use for this recipe otherwise you may like to purchase one. They come in 3 different types Normal, Oily & Dry. Ease an itchy rash with an Oatmeal bath. A soothing bath with oatmeal and Lavender essential oil soothes the itchy, irritated skin of the rash. 200g Rolled Oats 10 drops Lavender Essential Oil Grind the oats in a blender into a fine powder. Add to a tub of warm water along with the lavender oil. Soak for 20 minutes, and pat dry your skin without rinsing. Bacterial Skin Infections Tea Tree for Boils Tea tree essential oil has powerful antimicrobial properties and helps to fight infection. 1 drop Tea Tree Essential Oil Apply a drop of undiluted Tea tree essential oil to the boil several times a day until the eruption has healed. Tea Tree for Impetigo Tea tree is antibacterial and helps dry impetigo blisters. Lavender essential oil helps alleviate inflammation. 1 Tablespoon Almond Oil 1/2 teaspoon Tea Tree Essential Oil 1/2 teaspoon Lavender Essential Oil Combine the ingredients in a tightly capped bottle. Apply with a cotton ball to the blister three times a day. Calendula for Impetigo Calendula is a powerful antimicrobial but is gentle enough for infants. 250ml Boiling Water 2 Tablespoons dried Calendula Make a strong tea by pouring the boiling water over the dried calendula. Cover, steep for 20 minutes, and then strain. Allow to cool for a few minutes then soak a flannel in the warm tea and apply to the impetigo blisters for 10 minutes, three times a day. Oils to Neutralize Odour Spray the following mixture under your arms when needed to help stop the growth of odour-causing bacteria. 60ml distilled Witch Hazel Extract 10 drops Grapefruit-seed Extract 10 drops Cypress Essential Oil 10 drops Lavender Essential Oil Mix the ingredients in a small spray bottle and shake well before using. Fungal Skin Conditioner Anti-fungal Spray Apple cider vinegar restores the healthy acidity of the skin to help it become more resistant to fungal growth. Lavender is antimicrobial and soothes itching and inflammation. 125ml Apple Cider Vinegar 1/2 teaspoon Lavender Essential Oil Combine the ingredients in a spray bottle and shake. Spray onto your skin once a day after showering. Fight ringworm with Essential Oils Tea Tree oil is a powerful anti-fungal and one of the best remedies for fungal skin infections. Lavender oil relieves itching and irritation, and also helps subdue the intense medicinal smell of the tea tree oil. 10 drops Tea Tree Essential Oil 10 drops Lavender Essential Oil Mix together the Essential Oils and apply to the rash twice daily. Calendula Anti-fungal foot soak Calendula fights the athlete's foot fungus and encourages skin to heal. 500ml Boiling Water 4 tablespoons dried Calendula Flowers 60ml Apple Cider Vinegar Pour the water over the flowers, cover, and steep until lukewarm. Strain, and pour into a basin large enough to hold your feet. Cover with warm water and add the vinegar, which increases skin acidity and discourages fungal growth. Soak your feet twice daily for about 20 minutes. Healing Foot Spray Tea tree combats the athlete's foot fungus, while aloe soothes irritated, itchy skin. 125ml Aloe Vera gel or Juice 1/2 teaspoons Tea Tree Essential Oil Combine the ingredients in a spray bottle. Shake well before using, and apply twice daily. Let your feet air dry before putting on socks or shoes. Continue using this spray for at least one month, even after symptoms have disappeared, to ensure that the fungus has been eliminated. Caring for Normal skin Simple Yogurt cleanser Yogurt and Strawberries are gentle cleansers, and lavender soothes the skin. 1 fresh Strawberry 1 Tablespoon plain whole-milk yogurt 1 drop Lavender Essential Oil Crush the fresh strawberry and combine the yogurt and the juice (approx one teaspoon). Add the Lavender Essential Oil and mix together well. Dampen your face with warm water and massage the yogurt mixture into your skin for a minute. Rinse well with warm water. |
